JEWISH American singer Yaakov Shwekey will perform an exclusive online concert for Australian audiences this Sunday night.

The event presented by Sydney’s Shul will also feature an address by US businessman, television personality and motivational speaker Charlie Harary and a magic show by Luigi Zucchini.

“The broadcast is an exciting project and a heartwarming display of the unity and love in Am Yisroel, there is no doubt that this will shine a light of hope and positivity during these times,” said Rabbi Chaim Levy from Sydney’s Shul.

“Shwekey, who’s known for more than just his beautiful voice but his chesed and Ahavat Yisrael, describes how the power of music goes beyond barriers of time and space, and is able to uplift people even in the hardest of circumstances.

“He felt compelled to strengthen the community and bring a festive spirit during what is meant to be a time of joy and happiness for Jews the world over.”

Other partners for the event include the Rabbinical Council of NSW, Jewish House, the Sephardi Synagogue, Nefesh, The Central Synagogue and Chabad Youth.

Tickets to watch the event are free and members of the community can also by raffle tickets to win an Apple Watch.

The event begins at 6pm, this Sunday, September 26.
