A home away from home

Enjoy an independent lifestyle in luxurious surroundings while also enjoying around-the-clock support when you need it.

Imagine being able to enjoy the best of both worlds as you get older: an independent lifestyle in luxurious surroundings where you can prepare food and entertain your loved ones, while also enjoying around-the-clock support when you need it.

That’s exactly what you get at Jewish Care’s state-of-the-art residential homes in Carnegie and Windsor.

Residential respite, also known as short-term care, offers extra support and a break for elders and their carers. It also enables elders to enter residential aged care on a trial basis to see if they’d like to live there more permanently.

Jewish Care’s residential respite is truly a home away from home, where residents can be pampered, enjoy personal rehabilitation and benefit from nutritional care. This is all while enjoying state-of-the-art facilities and a wealth of premium on-site amenities, including a cafe, cinema, wellness centre, library and salon.

Jewish Care’s specialist support services and hand-in-hand model of support are designed to meet elders’ individual emotional, physical, social and spiritual needs in a flexible, home-style environment. This focus on the needs of the individual also extends to food preparation, activities, or keeping Shabbat and attending services at the dedicated shul.

Sheila Sapper, one of the elders experiencing Jewish Care’s respite program, said: “I have been here since January and it’s a lovely place that is beautifully managed, and where the staff are fabulous. If I wake up at 3am and I want a cup of tea, the staff will make me one.”
