AS the community is set in motion again, an extra set of wheels will be available to local organisations, clubs and community groups looking to hit the road.
Community Bank Caulfield Park – which reinvests up to 80 per cent of its profits into organisations within the local community – has added an extra bus to the local council’s fleet.
The council service now consists of four 12-seater buses and one nine-seater bus with wheelchair access.
Assisting the elderly and those with a disability, the Community Bank-sponsored bus aims to provide transport to local shopping centres and community activities.
Former mayor of Glen Eira Margaret Esakoff, who was handed the keys in October, called the extra bus “a valuable resource to many clubs and groups in the Glen Eira community”.
Community Bank Caulfield Park branch chairman Gary Hershan is encouraging Jewish groups to utilise the service, explaining that the “community banking model is based on community relationships as we partner together to create a strong and connected community”.
Since its inception in 2004 Community Bank has reinvested $2.2 million into the local community.
