A new sweet delight
"Life is short and unpredictable and I decided it was time to follow my dreams," says Sweetheart Patisserie owner Naama.
Sweetheart Patisserie by Naama has opened for business at 154 Hawthorn Road, Caulfield.
The shop, run by Naama Remocker and husband Andrew, is currently open on Fridays from 9am until sold out.
They sell delicious dairy and dairy-free kosher cakes and desserts and are happy to cater for any occasion.
Naama, Andrew and their four sons, aged from 20 months to 15 years recently arrived in Melbourne from Israel.
Andrew explained they started Sweetheart Patisserie by Naama in Israel around 2018.
“I unfortunately had a stroke in 2020, and we just did very small private orders, and then because of the war, we decided to come home.
“With my family here, we had more support with my stroke and an opportunity to open a new store.”
Naama bakes all the cakes herself.
When The AJN asked Andrew how she copes his reply was simple, “Her talent is phenomenal.”
“We also offer catering for bar and bat mitzvahs and for large functions,” Naama added.
From a young age she was always in the kitchen with her mother constantly questioning and experimenting with recipes.
“Life is short and unpredictable and I decided it was time to follow my dreams.”
After undertaking an extended pastry course at the Danon Culinary School in Tel Aviv, she found her passion for French desserts, cakes and the process of developing small desserts that combine interesting flavours.
“Our Ferrero Rocher cake is currently the most popular,” she said.
Naama recently catered for a function at a local home.
Hostess Suzie said, “I heard about Sweetheart Patisserie through the grapevine and was thrilled with what was delivered.
“I asked them to provide fruit platters as well as their fabulous cakes. It was all laid out beautifully and was delicious. I need to have another function just so I can try more of their different delicacies!”
