Anti-Defamation Commission (ADC) chairman Dvir Abramovich has condemned comedy platform YeahMad for the second time in as many months after a video surfaced showing comedian Kat Andrews delivering a “joke” about executing Jews.

The controversy comes just a week after an arson attack on the East Melbourne Synagogue, with Abramovich describing the timing as particularly offensive.

In the video, Andrews asks: “What does a bad joke and a Jew have in common?” before delivering the punchline: “They can both be executed better.”

“This is not a joke. This is a wink to extermination,” Abramovich said, calling it an “ugly trivialisation of violence against Jews”.

Describing the joke was “cold, deliberate, and venomous”, Abramovich also criticised the audience’s reaction. “A woman joked about killing Jews, and the room thought it was hilarious,” he said.
