NEXT Sunday evening, the community will come alive as the two major candidates for Melbourne Ports face off in a debate hosted by The AJN.
In conjunction with the Jewish Community Council of Victoria, the hustings will see Labor incumbent Michael Danby verbally tussle with his Liberal opponent Kevin Ekendahl.
The debate will be moderated and questions from the audience will be welcomed.
AJN national editor Zeddy Lawrence said it would be a great opportunity for the 18,000-plus Jewish voters in Melbourne Ports to hear first-hand from the candidates.
“This campaign is certainly very close and we are pleased to give our readers the opportunity to directly engage with the candidates.”
The event will be held on Sunday, August 15, 6.30pm at Beth Weizmann Community Centre. Entry is free but by booking only, with a limited number of seats available for what is destined to be a huge event.
“I urge the community to get in early, this will be a debate not to be missed,” Lawrence said.
Tickets will be allocated on a first-come, first-served basis. Bookings: debate@jewishnews.net.au.
