Leaders agree to continue deepening bilateral cooperation; Lapid invites Albanese to visit Israel

Prime Minister Anthony Albanese spoke with Israeli Prime Minister Yair Lapid on Thursday afternoon.

Lapid thanked Albanese for his commitment to the State of Israel and for Australia’s commitment to the fight against antisemitism and BDS.

“The two leaders agreed to continue deepening bilateral cooperation. Prime Minister Lapid invited Prime Minister Albanese to visit Israel,” Lapid’s office said.

A spokesperson for Albanese said, “Prime Minister Anthony Albanese made a congratulatory call today to Israel’s Prime Minister Yair Lapid.

“Prime Minister Albanese assured Prime Minister Lapid that Australia will remain a committed friend of Israel under his government. Prime Minister Albanese welcomed Prime Minister Lapid’s commitment to a two-state solution.

“Prime Minister Albanese welcomed the huge contribution that Jewish Australians had made and continue to make to Australia.”
