This year’s gathering was particularly special as it marked the first time in several years that a strong Australian contingent was able to attend, following the disruptions caused by the COVID-19 pandemic. The meeting also coincided with the celebration of Israel’s 75th anniversary, providing an additional layer of significance to the event.

In line with TAU’s commitment to fostering knowledge and understanding, the Gandel Forum on the Middle East shed light on the latest developments and challenges in the region. Experts and thought leaders engaged in discussions, offering valuable insights into the complex dynamics that shape the Middle East.
During the meeting, students also shared their personal stories, emphasising the profound impact that financial support has had on their studies and lives.
To conclude the gathering, a post-meeting trip was organised to the Jordan River and the Dead Sea. Participants were granted exclusive access to sites located in a closed military zone, made possible through the cooperation of the Israel Defence Forces.
