Another powerful mission to Israel
This year, 24 women will embark on a powerful mission to witness firsthand the impact of WIZO's work across all sectors of Israeli society.
After the success of last year’s trip, another group of women will travel to Israel this June as part of WIZO’s younger division, Lev Echad.
Lev Echad, which means ‘one heart,’ was established by WIZO NSW president Nilly Berger to ensure the future succession of WIZO NSW. The group, designed for women aged 35-55, is dedicated to supporting Israel’s most vulnerable communities.
This year, 24 women will embark on a powerful mission to witness firsthand the impact of WIZO’s work across all sectors of Israeli society. The delegation will visit WIZO programs, engage with beneficiaries and gain a deeper understanding of the organisation’s critical role – particularly in the aftermath of October 7. The trip will also include visits to the site of the Nova festival and the affected kibbutzim in the south.
Since its inception, Lev Echad has welcomed close to 300 new members from the younger generation, further strengthening WIZO’s mission for years to come.
“WIZO is the heartbeat of Israeli society, providing essential services for women, children and families in need,” said Berger.
“It’s inspiring to see so many new members from the next generation step up and take an active role in supporting our work.”
