Ayelet Shaked to address community
Top Israeli politician, Ayelet Shaked, has been added to the UIA summit as the mystery speaker.
Israel’s Interior Minister Ayelet Shaked has been announced as the mystery senior Israeli politician taking part in UIA Australia’s “Summit UIA” event.
A Member of the Knesset since 2013, Shaked will headline the politics-themed session on Sunday, February 27.
The politician, activist and software engineer is considered one of the most influential legislators in Israel today.
The Minister of Justice from 2015 to 2019, she initiated and drafted laws including Israel’s 2016 NGO law, its comprehensive law against terrorism, a version of the basic law proposal on Israel as the nation-state of the Jewish people and a law limiting the powers of the Israeli Supreme Court.
She was named Israel’s most influential woman by Forbes Israel in 2018 for the second year in a row.
“Minister Shaked is one of Israel’s most influential members of cabinet and it is an absolute pleasure to be hosting her with the rest of our world-class line up,” UIA CEO Yair Miller said.
Shaked is just one of a number of distinguished Israeli icons featuring at Summit UIA.
The symposium is UIA’s main annual event – with a twist. Instead of one night, Summit UIA is being hosted over five nights of engagement, education and entertainment, all in support of the people of Israel.
Participants will also enjoy live conversations with actress Shira Haas, Olympian Linoy Ashram, former NBA player Omri Casspi, former Mossad director Yossi Cohen and Israel advocate and author Daniel Gordis.
Participants can choose to join for one night or all five.
