Bail granted

A NSW magistrate has granted bail to a person charged with category four sexual assault, and allowed him to return to Victoria.

A MAN will be allowed to return to home in Melbourne after he was granted bail by a magistrate today (Thursday).

The 51-year-old was arrested last week by Victoria Police detectives and extradited to NSW.

The AJN understands the alleged victim was under the age of 16 at the time.

In Sydney’s Central Local Court today, magistrate Clare Farnan granted conditional bail.

The alleged perpetrator must report to authorities three times a week, not go near or contact any prosecution witness, and not apply for a passport.
