There was torrential rain in the Gold Coast during the Australian Youth Beach Volleyball Championships from March 28-31, but plenty of sunshine in terms of results for four Jewish players representing Victoria.

In the 20-team U18 girls’ competition, Samantha Pila and Milla Smith (pictured in centre, from left) won the final 21-16 21-6 against a NSW pair, after topping their pool, and then posting straight sets wins over a South Australian team, and a Victorian team featuring Milla’s twin sister Cate (pictured on far right), which took home bronze.

In the U15 girls’ competition, another sibling, Ruby Smith, was part of a team that also won bronze.
