Top Arts 2024 features the most exceptional work from students who have completed the new VCE study designs of Artmaking and Exhibiting and Art Creative Practice.
Opened in March 2024, the exhibition displayed a fascinating survey of the curious, creative and innovative spirit of young artists.
Faigenbaum explained that her prize-winning painting The Seeker was part of a body of artwork she created exploring the search for meaning in life.
“Essentially, this piece brings to light the ordinary parts of the human experience while exploring the interconnected relationship between myself and my surroundings.
“I have been creating art ever since I can remember and I know it will always be a part of my life as a meaningful mode of expression and creativity,” she said.
She expressed her thanks to the school and the classes about religion and society she took which inspired many of the meanings and messages behind her body of work.
“I hope to be an inspiration to all young Jewish women who are striving to reach their goals and pursue their passions. Staying true to yourself and your Jewish identity can be hard, but I believe it is easier to navigate life when you remain authentic and proud of your unique capabilities.”
Beth Rivkah art teacher Yvonne David, said “It was an absolute joy and privilege to teach Chana who exemplifies an unwavering commitment and passion to her art.”
The first prize was $750 plus a 12-month NGV membership.
