YOUNG gun Joshua Braver has capped off a stellar season by sweeping the North Caulfield Maccabi Football Club awards on the weekend.

Braver was named the club’s Best and Fairest Player and also took out the Most Improved Player and Top Goal Scorer awards. The 20-year-old is the first player from the club’s junior system to win the top gong in several years.

Jason Tasker and first year player Joshua Kacen tied for second, six points behind Braver, while star midfielder Ari Ritz came third a point further back.
Braver’s brother Farrell won the Reserve side’s Best and Fairest award.

North Caulfield Maccabi FC held its annual Best and Fairest Awards Night 2010 at Caulfield Park Pavilion last Saturday. Among the near 100 players, coaches, guests and club officials, there was a sense of excitement to celebrate a great year at the club.

The award for Best Club Person, named after club stalwart Michael Lowinger — who passed away during the season — was received by Timothy Sackville and Daniel Opat.
