Coinciding their 20th anniversary celebrations with the festival of lights, owners of local cafe Cafe D’Lish served up free doughnuts to their beloved regulars.

On Monday last week, members of sports clubs that the local cafe sponsors and Caulfield MP David Southwick joined hungry locals in beaming through the doors of Cafe D’Lish where they were greeted with a coffee and a fresh sufganiyah.

Originally a small milk bar, owners Izzy, Rosa and Morris Baran transformed the property in 2001, wanting to create a New York kosher style cafe deli. After 20 years, it’s safe to say the concept worked, the Bambra Road deli a favourite for many.

“We wanted to give back to the community, for all the support they have given us over the years,” said Izzy. “Being Chanukah, it was a bonus of a celebration.”
