Calling up-and-coming philanthropists

'The fellowship will be influential in shaping future leaders for our local community as well as a strong and vibrant Israel'.

THE United Israel Appeal (UIA) NSW will next week launch the inaugural UIA Philanthropy Fellowship in partnership with the Australian Jewish Funders (AJF).

The fellowship will explore trends in philanthropy, collective giving and community building to inspire young emerging leaders. The program is designed to cultivate and develop empowered and skilled leaders and supporters of the future, where participants will learn new tools and strategies to become leaders among their peers and within the community.

Participants aged 25-38 will gain hands-on leadership experience by receiving personal mentoring from leading community philanthropists, engaging with other emerging and established philanthropists and leaders in the community; and learning through interactive case studies, peer sharing, conversations with experts and skill-building exercises. Topics will include creative leadership, next gen giving, communication, mentoring and growing others.

The initiative will conclude with an inspiring night of giving based around the principal of a ‘giving circle’.

“AJF is very excited to collaborate with UIA on the Philanthropy Fellowship,” AJF CEO Tracie Olcha said.

“We have planned an innovative program exploring new trends in giving, creative leadership tools and insights from communal leaders and experts. The fellowship will be influential in shaping future leaders for our local community as well as a strong and vibrant Israel.”

UIA NSW president Andrew Boyarsky added, “The concept of next gen giving and leadership is vital to the continuation of UIA’s strong foundations built by previous generations, and ultimately supporting the people of Israel. This is truly an invaluable opportunity and we encourage those interested to apply as soon as possible.”
