Celebrating World Read Aloud Day

PJ Library celebrated World Read Aloud Day with some beautiful books read by excellent authors.

PJ Library celebrated World Read Aloud Day on February 2 with an online story-reading session featuring author and Holocaust survivor Gidon Lev (pictured), who very enthusiastically read the children’s book Listen, written by Lina Schwarz and illustrated by Patrice Barton.

A special guest for the event was award-winning author Leslea Newman, who has written more than 70 books including several PJ Library selections.

She shared an excerpt from her book Welcoming Elijah: A Passover Tale with a Tail, and talked about the meaning behind the festival of Passover.

Meanwhile, PJ Library’s original podcast – called Have I Got a Story For You! – surpassed 200,000 downloads on February 3.

PJ Library also hosts regular podcasts called Beyond the Bookcase and Afternoons with Mimi.
