Comedian and actress Iliza Shlesinger has been busy doing her bit for Israel.

American actor Mayim Bialik posted on Facebook last week, “So grateful to Iliza Shlesinger for spearheading our benefit last week to support the life saving work of United Hatzalah of Israel and so thrilled that Chelsea Handler came to support us. It was a very powerful evening – it felt really good to be together.”

Bialik, Shlesinger and Handler have been outspoken in their support for Israel and the condemnation of Hamas in the wake of the October 7 massacre.

In October last year, Shlesinger wrote an article in the Hollywood Reporter in which she stated, “Israel retaliated to the largest killing of Jews in one day since the Holocaust and now a lot of innocent lives are being lost in every direction. So what’s to be done? I know the answer can’t be the exhausted, half-invested, pacifist, keyboard warrior, soft serve solution for ‘both sides to set their guns down.’

“That would be great except for one fact, and that is history. I know that if Israel put down their guns, no one else would, and there would be no more Israel.”
