Concern for missing 86-year-old man

VICTORIA Police are appealing for public assistance to help locate missing South Melbourne man Iosif.

The 86-year-old was last seen at Glick’s café in Balaclava about 10.30am on Wednesday morning.

He was last seen wearing a blue jumper, brown pants, a white hat and black shoes.

Police and family hold concerns for Iosif as he has dementia and other medical conditions.

Police have released an image of Iosif in the hope someone recognises him and can provide information on his current whereabouts.

In a Facebook post, his granddaughter Melanie Dove said he doesn’t speak English well and is fluent in Russian.

She said he was “last seen crossing Alma and Orrong Road around 4pm [on Wednesday], limping and looking very confused”.

“If you know anyone in the local area of Balaclava please share this and spread the word. He could be anywhere by now,” Dove said.

“Please contact me straight away if you hear or see anything of interest.”
