Walker, who grew up in Bondi, is co-founder of The Hills Socialites, a network that encourages women to connect while supporting them through different phases of their lives.

She also runs her own business, Katz Recruitment, and was appointed brand ambassador for Curves & Curls International, promoting positive body image for plus-size women.

“The most rewarding thing I do is connecting people. My purpose with The Hills Socialites is to support women … Providing an escape from busy lives so that women can let their hair down, and enjoy connecting and supporting one another.

“Having three daughters, it means a lot to me to inspire and cultivate healthy relationships and connections. This is to empower my daughters and other females within our community to have the best possible lives that they can.

“I’m a mother, businesswoman and community person – and contributing to my community means a lot to me.”

She said she takes great pride representing her Jewish origins in the Hills District community, where there is a small but growing Jewish population.

“I’m the first born Australian in my family, and my parents came to Australia from Ukraine over 45 years ago. I’m a very proud Australian and receiving this acknowledgement was a highlight of my life.”
