COMMUNITY Security Group (CSG) Victoria has been awarded the 2021 Caulfield Volunteer Award for its outstanding efforts in standing up to support the community during the pandemic.

Acknowledging the collective effort and contribution the CSG volunteers and professional staff made during this challenging time, Member for Caulfield David Southwick said, “CSG has always done a great job in keeping us safe, and they stepped up during the pandemic to fill the gap in providing an essential emergency response during outbreaks in our community.”

During the pandemic, CSG set up the Jewish Community COVID taskforce, worked with Victoria Police for the High Holy Days shofar project, assisted Jewish organisations with their COVID-safe plans and provided support for the community through a hotline.

Usually awarded to an individual, this is the first time that an organisation has been recognised in this category.

As winners, the CSG will receive a $1000 cheque and a promotional video highlighting its contribution to the community during the pandemic.

A proud CSG Victoria CEO Justin Kagan, said “Our volunteers and professional staff went above and beyond during the pandemic and it’s really wonderful to be acknowledged in this way.”
