Dignitaries attend prayer breakfast

Mayor of the City of Gold Coast, Tom Tate, presided over the gathering, and the event showcased the convergence of various Christian Zionist groups.

The Gold Coast experienced a significant gathering on July 3 and 4 as over 500 individuals participated in the Jerusalem Prayer Breakfast (JPB), marking the second occurrence of this event in Australia.

The JPB, a global initiative held across various cities worldwide, was held over two days and participants included representatives from 16 countries.

JPB world wide co-chairs Albert Veksler and Robert Ilatov travelled from Israel for the event and noted, “We saw something phenomenal that we haven’t seen before – governments sent their official representatives to the Jerusalem Prayer Breakfast Gold Coast.

“Prime Minister of Fiji, Sitiveni Rabuka sent Deputy Prime Minister Gavoka; Prime Minister of Papua New Guinea, James Marape sent the Minister of Community Development and Religion, the Hon. Jason Peter MP; the Vanuatuan Prime Minister Kalsakau sent the Deputy Speaker of the Vanuatu Parliament, the Hon. Noris Kalmet MP and Jean Baptist Tama MP; the Cook Islands were represented by Minister of the Crown, Hon. Vainetutai Rose Toki-Brown MP and the Solomon Islands were represented by the Hon. Peter Kenilorea Jr. MP,” Veksler said.

Knesset members Tatiana Mazarsky and Ohad Tal were in attendance, as was Israeli ambassador Amir Maimon.

Several prominent figures from the Australian Jewish community were in attendance, including NSW Jewish Board of Deputies president David Ossip, Jewish Agency representative for Australia and New Zealand Orit Elkayam Cohen, Rabbinical Council of NSW president Rabbi Shua Solomon, Sydney Beth Din senior dayan Rabbi Moshe Gutnick and Zionist Federation of Australia past president Ron Weiser.
