ISRAELI Embassy deputy chief of mission Ron Gerstenfeld presented a donation of $16,300 on behalf of the Israeli government to GIVIT to assist with their clean-up efforts in flood-affected communities in Victoria last week.

The occasion was hosted at Parliament House in Melbourne and was attended by founder and director of GIVIT Juliet Wright, David Southwick MP, Brad Battin MP, James Newbury MP and Brad Rowswell MP, as well as other friends of Israel.

Despite the current focus on the floods in NSW, there are still many areas in Victoria that require continued support in the wake of the 2021 floods.

Gerstenfeld told The AJN, “A large number of people and communities were affected by last year’s floods in Victoria. Every dollar counts for the people who have received it.

“The Israeli Embassy was happy to hear about the appreciation of the people for the important items purchased with the funds as explained to us by the founder of GIVIT, Juliette Wright, during the ceremony.”
