WITH the construction of Emanuel School’s new building well underway, 400 blessings written by students were scattered into the new foundations.

Students were encouraged to share their wishes, dreams and blessings for the new building by writing and decorating letters, which Tany Milner and Marla Bozic, Foundation board president, had the honour of scattering ahead of the concrete pour.

The students’ thoughts and prayers were carefully crafted, showing a deep connection to and excitement for the space that will be a part of the school’s landscape for future generations.

“I wish that whoever enters the doors [of] the new building will enter with joy and sunshine surrounding themselves, even on the rainiest days,” read one of the wishes.

“I hope that the building inspires people to do great things. I hope that it teaches people and is a source of happiness,” read another.

Emanuel School’s Project Baruch will see the redevelopment of one of its older school buildings into a purpose-built, 21st-century learning centre.

The new building will provide increased space for primary school students, as well as additional space, learning opportunities and targeted facilities that will benefit all students.

It will also allow for additional classrooms for high school students and a second design and technology lab to support STEAM learning.
