A show of appreciation

Feeding the frontline workers

"The frontline workers are working hard to keep us safe and hopefully get us back to normal as soon as possible."

IN a show of appreciation from the Jewish community, Rabbi Chaim Levy (pictured) of Sydney’s Shul has distributed hot meals, sweets and cold drinks packaged by Our Big Kitchen (OBK) to police and frontline workers at the Bondi Beach COVID testing clinic.

Noting rising case numbers across NSW, Rabbi Levy said, “We owe a debt of gratitude” to police officers who are working to ensure public health orders are adhered to, and to staff at drive-through testing clinics who are on the frontline each day.

“The frontline workers are working hard to keep us safe and hopefully get us back to normal as soon as possible,” he told The AJN.

“[They] have been most appreciative of this kind gesture and felt the warmth of the community pushing them along in these trying times.”

Encouraging members of the community to get tested if recommended, Rabbi Levy added, “It’s been a community effort working together and each of us doing our part.”
