More than 1500 young skiers and snowboarders qualified for, and competed in, the first Australian Interschools Championships since 2019, at Perisher from September 6-11.

A standout among the Jewish entrants was seven-year-old Bialik College student Finn Rogers, who won the giant slalom division 6 boys’ grades 1 and 2 competition, with run times of 36.01 and 35.85 seconds.

Passionate about skiing, Rogers spent the winter in Mount Buller, so he could train most mornings.

Wesley College’s Henry Orner (23rd in division 2 secondary boys), Bialik’s Finn Goldsmith (32nd in division 5 boys), and Shelford Girls’ Grammar’s Sarah Orner (43rd in division 3 girls) also did well.
