First singles’ event planned
Sassoon Yehuda Sephardi Synagogue will host its first dedicated singles’ event for young adults.
Sassoon Yehuda Sephardi Synagogue will host its first dedicated singles’ event on Thursday, November 19, at 8pm.
Under the banner of Sassoon Social, the synagogue has held a number of social events for young adults over the past few years. The program, which is open to singles and couples, centres on building friendships, connection to Israel and Jewish and Sephardi traditions. Its events have included discussions about Israeli culture and themed evenings, and cater to people with varying levels of knowledge of Jewish customs.
The synagogue’s heritage stems from the Jewish communities of the Middle East, India and Asia.
In the past year, organisers have received private messages from attendees asking whether they could organise something different.
“We’ve had some wonderful events where young people have come together and enjoyed themselves,” Sassoon Yehuda Sephardi Synagogue president Joanne Levy said.
