Antisemitic covid conspiracies

Flyer left at local shule

Communal leaders have condemned an antisemitic conspiracy theory flyer that was recently found on the Sassoon Yehuda Synagogue in the heart of the religious Jewish community.

The flyer, is titled “Every single aspect of the COVID agenda is Jewish”, naming Australian Centre for Disease Control (CDC) members with Jewish background or Jewish sounding names, as evidence to back up their titular claim.

The flyer, which Anti-Defamation Commission (ADC) chairman Dvir Abramovich referred to as “ugly, brazen and menacing”, says people “were literally shabbos goy carrying out the will of the Jews, wittingly or unwittingly.”

Abramovich told The AJN, “Times of turmoil like this pandemic have offered fertile ground for neo-Nazis to dehumanise and scapegoat Jews for this health crisis,” adding that this leaflet that “traffics in dangerous stereotypes and conspiracy theories”, cannot go “unchecked”.

The flyer also claims that the companies BlackRock and Vanguard are the “two largest shareholders of both Pfizer and Glaxosmithkline”, adding that these companies also control the mainstream media (MSM.)

The matter has been reported to the St Kilda police, however president of the Jewish Community Council of Victoria Daniel Aghion, said, “This is not the first time this poster has been found stuck on a Jewish-linked building in recent weeks.

“COVID-19-linked antisemitic conspiracy theories have been circulating as long as the pandemic has been with us.

“These conspiracy theories are offensive and insulting to our community, which has suffered as much as everyone else from this virus,” Aghion told The AJN.

He urged anyone who finds other copies of this flyer or any other antisemitic material to report it to CSG on 1300 000 274 or via the JEAP app.
