POP sensation The Potbelleez (pictured) rocked ArkAid, and together with other high profile musicians helped raise nearly $50,000 for flood-affected Jews in Queensland on Tuesday night.

Potbelleez member Ilan Kidron, who organised the event with Jewish House’s Rabbi Mendel Kastel, was joined on stage by folk singer Lior, triple ARIA award-winning group Monsieur Camembert, Old Man River, Dove and the Neshama and a young Elvis impersonator.

Queensland Jewish Community Services president Ari Heber told the crowd that damage to Jewish families’ homes was expected to total more than $500,000.

“We are the last resort for our community after they receive insurance and after they receive money from the Premier’s Flood Appeal, so if there is a gap we want to be able to fill it,” Heber said.
