WOLPER Jewish Hospital not only cares for its patients and staff, but also, increasingly, the planet.

Last month, a solar panel system was installed on its roof, that will generate green energy to power the hospital’s facilities.

It’s another impactful initiative to have emerged from its Environment and Sustainability Committee that was established last year.

Other initiatives it is overseeing include the recycling of batteries, re-sourcing of thousands of water bottles used each year, and being more forthright with the hospital’s suppliers regarding sustainability matters.

Wolper Jewish Hospital has also become a member of Global Green and Healthy Hospitals, which is an international network of hospitals, healthcare facilities and health organisations that are dedicated to reducing their environmental footprint, and promoting public and environmental health.

Membership of the network offers access to tools, resources, events and webinars, to support affiliates in reaching their environmental goals.
