Israel’s Artem Dolgopyat won a gold medal for his outstanding, error-free floor routine at the 2022 European Artistic Gymnastics Championship in Munich last Sunday.

Dolgopyat – a Tokyo Olympics gold medallist – scored 14.966, edging Hungary’s Christopher Masaruch (14.600) who won silver, and Jake German from Britain (14.433) who claimed bronze.

“I am very tired now, but happy,” Dolgopyat said after the medal presentation, adding he’d only been able to train for two weeks prior, due to a foot injury.

“Thank you to everyone for the encouragement.”
