Governor-General hosts Jewish community
Sam Mostyn welcomes Bondi survivors and bereaved families ahead of the attack’s first anniversary.

Governor-General Sam Mostyn hosted members of Sydney’s Jewish community at Admiralty House on October 29, ahead of the first anniversary of the Bondi terror attack.
The reception was one of several meetings the Governor-General has held with community members affected by the attack.
Mostyn and her husband, Simeon Beckett, welcomed family members of those killed at Bondi, survivors still living with injury and trauma, and leaders of community organisations that have provided ongoing support.
In her address, Mostyn reflected on the grief and continuing trauma caused by the attack. She acknowledged the compassion, strength and care shown across the Jewish community, and the role its leaders play in the ongoing recovery.
She also acknowledged NSW Jewish Board of Deputies president Greg Joffe and board members, as well as Rabbi Jacqueline Ninio and Rabbi Eli Feldman, who were in attendance.
