ISRAELI Ambassador Amir Maimon visited Jewish Care’s Holckner Family Senior Living and Community Precinct in Windsor this week.

Jewish Care CEO Alan Lilly said, “We feel extremely privileged that Ambassador Maimon visited Jewish Care and saw first-hand the impact of Jewish Care’s services and support for those most in need in our Victorian Jewish community.”

President Lisa Kennett said the Ambassador’s “deep connection to assist Jewish people throughout the world is evident throughout his very accomplished career”.

“His passion for acknowledging seniors and Holocaust survivors was exemplified when he played a song by Israeli artist Avihu Medina,” she said.

“The song is based on the powerful prayer, Psalm 71:9, recited during the High Holy Days with the words, ‘Do not cast me off in old age; do not abandon me as my strength fails’.

“Jewish Care looks forward to maintaining a strong relationship and dialogue with Ambassador Maimon and plans are already underway to host a community event with the Embassy.”

Maimon described the visit as “quite moving and emotional”.

“The services provided by them truly represent the meaning to the phrase Kol yisrael arevim zeh bazeh, meaning all of Israel are responsible for each other,” he said.

“I would like to share my deepest appreciation for the support provided by Jewish Care Victoria to our community.”
