MELTON School of Adult Jewish Learning is moving to online offerings, and is kicking off 2022 with some exciting courses for Jews from all walks of life.
To start the year, they will be offering two 10-week courses. Marcia Ellis, a finalist for the 2021 AmCham Hong Kong Women of Influence, Professional of the Year Award, will be exploring Ethics of Jewish Living starting on March 2, while international online learning hub coordinator Rabbi Noam Hayman will be teaching Genesis (Bereshit) Part I: From Adam to Abraham.
Starting on March 3, the course will be exploring the themes of family, faith, honour and power, and discussing how these stories have influenced our people until today.
Rabbi Hayman explained, “We welcome learners from all communities, cities and countries to learn with us. Every learner will have access to the course materials and lesson recordings to revise in his or her own time if they miss a lesson.”
Rabbi Danny Schiff, who taught the largest course last year, said, “There really is no better way to wrestle with core Jewish ideas and to be exposed to extraordinary Jewish texts than by taking a Melton course (or a few).
“If you’re looking for Jewish learning that will help you fit all the pieces of the puzzle into the ‘big picture’, then Melton is definitely for you.”
