‘I wish Australian Jewish News readers a sweet and joyous New Year’
The Jewish community's commitment to education, social justice and community life is an inspiration to us all.
On the occasion of Rosh Hashanah, I wish Australian Jewish News readers a sweet and joyous New Year.
Rosh Hashanah marks not only the beginning of the Jewish year, but also a time of deep reflection, prayer and connection with family and community. It is a time to look inward, to renew commitment to tikkun olam (repairing the world), to share festive meals, and to partake in ancient traditions, from eating apples dipped in honey to sounding the shofar.
In New South Wales, we are enriched by a vibrant Jewish community whose history, culture and contributions strengthen the very fabric of our multicultural society. The Jewish community’s commitment to education, social justice and community life is an inspiration to us all.
On behalf of the NSW Government, I wish you a happy, healthy and prosperous new year.
Shana tova u’metukah!
