COVID-19 infections at Jewish Care Victoria’s Windsor facility – the Hannah and Daryl Cohen Family Building – continued to climb this week.

As of Wednesday morning, there were 31 active cases among residents – four more than on Sunday night – and 20 among staff.

As reported in The AJN last week, one elderly resident who had COVID-19 at the Hannah and Daryl Cohen Family Building has passed away.

Regarding the latest infection figures, the organisation stated it is “continuing to do everything possible under the very difficult circumstances to manage the situation … COVID-19 is stretching and straining the health and care sectors in ways never seen before”.

“This is a challenging time for elders, family and staff and we continue to work collaboratively with the Department of Health and Human Services, Alfred Health, Ramsay Health Care and the Commonwealth Department of Health to support the wellbeing of all elders and staff.”
