Israel in your feed: Pride amid pressure

Scroll through Jewish social media and a familiar pattern quickly appears. Israeli flags, Hebrew phrases, music, humour and everyday moments of Jewish life sit alongside posts that speak openly about identity and connection to Israel.

Many creators use these posts as statements of pride as well as expressions of culture or lifestyle. While some Jews feel pressure online to avoid discussing their identity or their support for Israel, a growing number of creators across Israel and the Diaspora are choosing visibility instead.

The ways this pride appears vary widely. For some it takes the form of outspoken advocacy, while for others it appears through humour, culture, food or reflections on Jewish life. Together, these voices create a digital space in which Jewish identity and connection to Israel remain clearly visible.

Among the most recognisable of these voices is American comedian and creator Zach Sage Fox, whose videos confronting antisemitism and defending Israel have attracted a large following. Using humour and direct engagement, Fox’s content reflects a broader trend among Jewish creators who combine cultural pride with an unapologetic willingness to address hostility online.

Singer and influencer Montana Tucker has also used her platform to highlight Jewish identity and speak openly about her connection to Israel. Tucker frequently speaks about her grandparents’ experiences as Holocaust survivors, which she has said motivates her to use her platform to educate audiences about Jewish history, antisemitism and support for Israel.
