Prominent UAE political analyst and Emirati influencer Amjad Taha is concerned Australia is morphing into “AustraliaStan” after seeing crowds openly celebrating a string of slain terrorist leaders.

Taha, who will be in the country on behalf of JNF Australia, believes Western countries should follow the example of the UAE, where there is “zero tolerance for antisemitism and the Muslim brotherhood”.

“Seeing crowds in a peaceful country like Australia openly praising Haniyeh, Nasrallah and Sinwar – men responsible for over 500,000 Syrian deaths and the forced displacement of 9 million Christians, Druze and Muslims – feels like stepping into south Lebanon or an ISIS-controlled zone in Syria,” Taha told The AJN.

“This isn’t just a political stance; it’s an embrace of violence, terrorism and the utter destruction of lives. If this is the path people are taking, they’re not advocating for Australia – they’re advocating for ‘AustraliaStan’, a twisted, radicalised version of a nation that once stood for diversity and peace.”

Taha said it’s a “devastating tragedy” that antisemitism still exists, calling it a “betrayal of humanity”. He is a strong advocate for the Abraham Accords and the expanding of the normalisation of relations between the Arab world and Israel.

“More Arab and Muslim countries, such as Saudi Arabia, Indonesia, Tunisia and others, are likely to join the Abraham Accords – or perhaps create their own agreements, inspired by its success,” said Taha.

“The fact that the Abraham Accords not only survived the events of October 7 but were also used as a channel for humanitarian aid, with no calls for boycotts, demonstrates that this is the path forward.”

Taha said the Abraham Accords are not merely political agreements, “they are a vision for a future of shared growth, where peace is the bedrock of progress”.

“As more nations embrace this vision, they will help build a Middle East defined by unprecedented stability, collaboration and opportunity.”

Taha has amassed a social media following of over half a million and his pro-Israel stance receives the expected backlash, but it doesn’t weaken his resolve.

“We cannot afford to let the voices of reason and humanity be drowned out by hatred, ignorance or indifference,” he said.

“Every challenge we face online is a reminder that our words are cutting through, that we are being heard. Together, we must rise against this tide, united by conviction. Keep speaking, keep pushing and never give up. History is watching us and I promise that in time, they will listen.”
