Throughout this year, Live at Yours has brought world renowned musicians to perform at Sydney’s Great Synagogue and the Melbourne Hebrew Congregation (Toorak Shule) where the acoustics and mood lighting combine to create an intimate musical experience.

The finale for 2024 comprises jazz performances – A Wonderful World: Simon Tedeschi and Friends on November 5 and 6 in Sydney and James Morrison Quartet Unplugged in Melbourne on November 13.

Considered to be one of Australia’s most loved classical pianists, Tedeschi will be accompanied by two Australian revered jazz musicians – trumpeter Mat Jodrell and bassist Cameron Undy.

The music will range from Louis Armstrong to George Gershwin and Benny Goodman, and is sure to delight with favourites from the golden era of jazz, toe-tapping rhythms and moody blues.

Tedeschi has performed as a soloist with major Australian orchestras and is the recipient of many prizes including the Symphony Australia’s Young Performer of the Year Award.

In Melbourne it is an opportunity to experience jazz musician James Morrison up close and personal for a special acoustic night at Toorak shule.

Morrison is considered to be a virtuoso. He plays trumpet, trombone, piano, saxophone and double bass, and was inducted into the Australian Jazz Hall of Fame. He has performed at the world’s major jazz festivals and clubs, and played with legends including Dizzy Gillespie, Quincy Jones, Ray Charles, B.B. King and Ray Brown. Morrison has been called “A genius of jazz” by Brown and “One of the best” by Gillespie.

The Morrison Quartet features James Morrison’s sons – William and Harry, and their vibe creates a family-like experience.

“Audiences will experience first-hand how the family communicates, argues, improvises and ultimately makes incredible music together as a quartet,” Live at Yours founder Vladimir Fanshil told The AJN.

The evening will include a Tanqueray gin bar on site at Toorak shule from 6pm. Fanshil said the finale concerts aim to “bring the community together for a feel good-uplifting experience”.
