Jewish artist collabs with BCNA
"We hope to do many more collabs together raising funds for charities that are close to our hearts."
JEWISH artist and Melbourne local Anna Blatman has created her latest work Fifi and Andie, in honour of two inspirational women in her life diagnosed with breast cancer.
Blatman has made this work in collaboration with Breast Cancer Network Australia (BCNA) and is offering an exclusive tea towel and coaster design, featuring the work Fifi and Andie.
Blatman is taking on this project together with her friend and active community member Simonne Winecier.
“We both have friends and family that have been through difficult times and we both want to give back,” Winecier said.
This is the second collaboration that the pair has undertaken, the first being with the Ovarian Cancer Research Foundation.
Winecier told The AJN, “We hope to do many more collabs together raising funds for charities that are close to our hearts.”
For every tea towel sold, Blatman and Winecier will be donating $5 to BCNA.
Blatman told The AJN, “I painted the budgies because I know so many friends that have had breast cancer. All survivors are living their precious lives. I named the birds after two amazing women – Fifi who is about to start treatment and Andie a beautiful young bride who just got married after finishing her treatment.”
She added, “Knowing that the funds raised go to services that support people with breast cancer, and that I’m supporting an amazing organisation, is very comforting for the people I know who have had, or have, breast cancer.”
