Jewish educators unite for a shared mission

This year's Jewish Educators' Professional Learning Symposium was a heartfelt celebration.

Co-hosted by Kesser Torah College (KTC) and the University of Sydney, this year’s Jewish Educators’ Professional Learning Symposium was a heartfelt celebration of learning, collaboration and the shared mission of nurturing Jewish education in Sydney.

Held at the end of October at KTC, the event brought together over 100 passionate educators from Sydney’s Jewish schools, universities, the Sydney Jewish Museum and community organisations.

The atmosphere was warm as participants engaged in meaningful discussions on Ivrit, Israel, Judaism and textual studies.

The evening opened with an inspiring Dvar Torah and welcome from KTC principal Rabbi Chaiton, who reminded attendees of the profound impact teachers have in shaping the next generation.

“Our community is elevated by our collective dedication to education,” said Rabbi Spielman, head of High School Jewish Studies at KTC, who spoke alongside Dr Michael Abrahams-Sprod, Roth Senior Lecturer in Jewish Civilisation, Education and Israel Studies and Chair of Hebrew, Biblical and Jewish Studies at the University of Sydney.
