TWO Jewish sprinters have conquered the 70m Bondi Barefoot Bolt, with Robbie Baskin winning the men’s event and Ella Regan-Lacey taking out the women’s race.
The event sees competitors run in a series of 70m races, with the last handful of competitors to cross the line in each race eliminated until a winner is crowned. Runners get a 60-second rest between sprints.
Regan-Lacey came close last year, placing third overall, but was able to better her performance to cross the line first in the final.
Meanwhile, Baskin was able to trump all the other competitors in his races, winning his way through to the final and blitzing the field.
Both will be donning the green and gold for the track and field team at the Maccabiah Games in Israel in July.
