JNF Australia CEO Dan Springer will step down at the end of the year after more than 10 years in the role.
During his tenure, Springer and JNF’s national board oversaw significant growth in fundraising, projects, community engagement, educational programs and partnerships.
Throughout his time at JNF, with his previous commercial and corporate experience Springer successfully negotiated a number of major agreements to enhance the organisation’s long-term future.
This included a key trademark deal, major gift and bequest settlements and a landmark innovation centre in the Negev that will support start-ups in enviro-tech, agri-tech, clean energy and water management.
Together with the board, Springer led JNF’s quick pivot in early 2020 to a hybrid digital/physical operating and engagement model to help it navigate the COVID-19 pandemic, with “virtual galas” building upon a decade of successful gala dinners.
“Over the last decade JNF has achieved a more sustainable financial footing, enabling the implementation of over 50 key projects across the Negev and beyond,” JNF Australia president Steven Salamon said.
“On behalf of the board and JNF family, I would like to thank Dan for leading these efforts and his significant contribution to JNF’s success.”
Another highlight of Springer’s service was the establishment of the Anzac Museum in Beersheba, officially opened by the Prime Ministers of Australia and Israel, on the centenary of the Light Horse charge.
“While the job has been a labour of love, the time is right to hand over the keys to younger leadership,” Springer said.
“I wish to thank my family for their support throughout this journey and all the wonderful staff, board members, volunteers and generous donors, together with all our partners in Israel, for helping make such a tremendous impact over the past decade.”
