Joy for top AJAX juniors

Remy Spicer.

AJAX Junior Football Club celebrated its success in the 2021 season at a recently-held presentation night on YouTube, hosted by club stalwart Rod Nirens.

In a shortened nine-week season, the club’s teams still enjoyed producing plenty of entertaining footy, and were competitive across all age groups from U8s to U18s.

Club president Jamie Davis thanked members, supporters, coaches, volunteers, officials, committee members and sponsors, adding the club is now preparing for the 2022 season, when it will celebrate its 50th anniversary.

The top two players’ awards – male and female club champions – were won by Remy Spicer and Asha Goldberg.

Most Improved Player recipients were Phoenix Janover (male) and Lexie Fry (female).

Eiden Pitt and Charlie Rozenes were joint winners of the Outstanding Achievement award, Jonty Israel received the Most Courageous award, and Mel Raleigh claimed the award for Passion and Commitment to the club.

Other major award winners were Jonah Wise and Kane Nissenbaum (coaches’ award), David Michelson (president’s trophy), Adam Faigen (team manager award), Harry Jacobs (outstanding service) and Elliot Swart (best club administrator).
