New management at Kadimah

Leading the next phase of growth

Kadimah board of directors’ chair, Joe Tigel recently announced Jeff Robinson was appointed to the role of business manager and Renata Zimbarg appointed as arts and culture manager on Monday, July 22.

“Jeff and Renata form a highly experienced, dynamic team ready to lead Kadimah’s next phase of growth as we build on our 113-year-old legacy of championing Yiddish language and Jewish culture, and to contributing to understanding tolerance and creativity,” Tigel said.

Robinson brings 30 years of leadership and management experience across a range of sectors.

He is skilled in strategic planning, management, leadership and team building with an impressive track record in stakeholder arrangement and communication.

Eager to create a positive and valued impact within the Jewish community particularly promoting the richness of Yiddishkeit, Robinson said he was delighted to be appointed to the new role.

“For over 100 years. Kadimah has made a significant impact on the Melbourne Jewish community through the promotion and development of Yiddish language and Jewish culture.

“I look forward to contributing to this revered organisation, ensuring its growth and success into the future,” he said.

Zimbarg’s dynamic vision and expertise spanning Latin America and Australia gives her a unique perspective on the global arts landscape and Jewish Diaspora.

Her commitment to ensuring cultural sensitivity and community engagement is underpinned by her passion for building inclusive spaces that celebrate cultural heritage while embracing innovative practices.

Her strategic vision and ability to navigate complex challenges will guide Kadimah’s programming and community.

Zimbarg comes from a Yiddish-speaking family and her heart is deeply rooted in Jewish culture and heritage.

“I am looking forward to leading Kadimah into the future, ensuring that Yiddish and Jewish culture thrive in this evolving world.

“I am dedicated to creating vibrant, innovative experiences that inspire new generations while honouring our traditions and ancestors, she said.

Tigel wished former cultural producer Fay Burstin every success in her new role as executive producer at Music Victoria and looked forward to her continued contribution as one of the Kadimah’s long standing storytellers.

Board member Miriam Bass said Burstin “will still be connected to the Kadimah no matter where she goes”.
