NSW Jewish Board of Deputies CEO Michele Goldman has condemned the vandalising of a state Liberal MP’s electorate office as “not just an attack on a local MP” but “an attack on our democratic values and social cohesion”.

The Gladesville electorate office of Member for Lane Cove Anthony Roberts was targeted last weekend, with the words “F**k Israel” scratched on the front windows.

Police have launched an investigation after CCTV footage captured a man appearing to spit on the glass before writing the message. The perpetrator also drew a large X over a photograph of King Charles III.

Goldman said the incident was “another incident in a disturbing pattern of intimidation and hate that has no place in NSW”.

“The hatred being expressed by activists like this isn’t only against Jewish people, it is directed towards values and harmony that make Australia a great place to live,” she said.
