LABOR candidate for Bradfield David Brigden grew up in the Bradfield electorate of St Ives and now lives in Wahroonga.

A father of three adult children, Brigden said he is motivated to provide younger generations with a better future, particularly through protecting the environment, combating climate change and biodiversity loss, and ensuring a prosperous economy.

At 71, he has more than 40 years experience as an environment and planning law solicitor and lecturer, his clients having included government, corporate Australia and individuals.

He is a casual lecturer in Planning and Environment Law at the University of Technology Sydney (UTS), where he teaches both graduate and undergraduate courses.

Additionally, Brigden gives presentations on environmental planning law for the Urban Development Institute of Australia and is a member of a local planning panel.

He has a Bachelor of Laws from Sydney University and has spent his career specialising in planning and environment law and associated areas of the law, including land compensation and property related laws.

In the 1980s, Brigden headed the legal branch of the Department of Environment and Planning and was a consultant with a national law firm from 1989 to 2009.
