FOR the first time in Australia, a tour group is offering a program to Israel for 27- to 39-year-olds, but there’s a catch -— they have to be single.

The Israel Travel Centre announced recently the “Israel (unattached)” 10-day inclusive tour from December 24 to January 2 for Jewish people from Australia and New Zealand.

Vicky Gonda, founder of Israel Travel Centre, said: “What happens is that once people get older, and they haven’t had the opportunity to go to Israel on a program like Birthright, they lose the connection with Israel.

“So I felt that this was a great way to connect people both with Israel and the community, and to do it in a fun way as a group.

“I hope that through the tour they either fall in love, or at least make great friends and have the time of their lives in Israel.”

The tour will include activities around the country, a Shabbat program in Jerusalem, camel trekking in the desert, an overnight stay in a Bedouin tent in the Negev, wine tasting in the Golan Heights and a new year’s eve party in Jerusalem.

All the activities will be supplemented by social components including pub hopping in Tel Aviv, Jerusalem and Haifa.

Singles from Australia and New Zealand will link up with singles from Israel.

The tour costs from $2100 plus airfares.

The Israel Travel Centre is a division of Jetset Rose Bay in Sydney, which specialises in travel to Israel.
