Maccabi celebrate season with awards

Two of the club’s U13 teams won Randwick Netball Association winter season titles, and their B1 women’s team finished as runners-up.

Maccabi NSW Netball Club celebrated another outstanding winter season, on and off the court, at its 2023 perpetual awards presentation afternoon on September 9.

The turnout was so large that a larger venue had to be found at Easts Rugby Club.

Two of the club’s U13 teams won Randwick Netball Association winter season titles, and their B1 women’s team finished as runners-up.

The perpetual award category winners were: (Outstanding player of the year) – Awen Hiroti; (Excellence in Junior Defence) – Louisa Freedman; (Excellence in Junior Mid Court) – Janna Sacharowitz; (Junior Sportsmanship) – Nicola Lonstein; (Trophy for Umpiring) – Sammy Sher; and (Award for Best Representative player) – Lucia Perczuk.

Awards for MVP, Most Improved Player, and Sportsmanship, were also presented for all junior (U10-U15) teams. MVP category award winners were: U/10 White – Sophia Radom; U/10 Blue – Ashley McKay; U/10 Lime – Liora Hodzic; U/12 White – Awen Hiroti; U/12 Blue – Taylor Topper; U/12 Lime – Bronte Lerner; U/13 White – Morgan Penn; U/13 Blue – Lexi Butt; U/13 Lime – Ally Rockman, U/13 Red –Zoe Levy; and U/15 White – Sarah Kaplan.
