Maccabi eyes first pennant in over a decade

MACCABI Tennis Club’s Grade-2 pennant team, captained by Paul Arber, will be looking to continue its undefeated winning streak this Saturday in week two of the Tennis Victoria Pennant Finals.

MACCABI Tennis Club’s Grade-2 pennant team, captained by Paul Arber, will be looking to continue its undefeated winning streak this Saturday in week two of the Tennis Victoria Pennant Finals.

Arber’s team, which includes star player Asaf Nagar (pictured), is favourite to win Maccabi’s first Tennis Victoria Men’s Pennant in nearly 11 years.

The club’s teams won two out of three semifinals last weekend.

The Men’s Grade-2 side smashed Yarraville 4-7-56 to 1-2-36, while the Men’s Grade-11 Section 1 team thrashed Donvale 4-9-72 to 1-4-49. The Men’s Grade-11 Section 2 team was edged narrowly by second-placed Caulfield Rec 2-5-58 to 4-8-64.
